Agy Lejman Norris

VOICE

Agy Lejman Norris is a versatile mezzo-soprano whose professional career began as a soloist with the Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra. She holds a B.A. in Voice and Theory from UCLA and an M.A. in Early Music from USC, where she studied with James Tyler. Her vocal training includes study with Jane Randolph in San Francisco and early formative experiences singing under Linda Anderson in Santa Monica’s public school choral programs.

Ms. Norris has since built a diverse performance career, appearing with ensembles that champion both early and contemporary music. She has sung with the Los Angeles Master Chorale, the Grammy Award–winning Los Angeles Chamber Singers (Padilla: Sun of Justice), de Angelis Vocal Ensemble, I Cantori, Long Beach Opera, and the L.A. Opera Chorus. She has toured nationally with Zephyr and the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra, and internationally with the Roger Wagner Chorale under Jeannine Wagner, including performances in Japan. Her voice can also be heard on numerous film and commercial soundtracks.

A dedicated church musician, Ms. Norris served for over 15 years as a staff singer at St. Cyril of Jerusalem in Encino, and continues to lend her voice to liturgical music in churches and temples across Southern California.

An accomplished teacher, her students have earned top honors in the Los Angeles Music Center’s Spotlight Awards, NATS Cal-Western Regionals, MTAC VOCE, and Kiwanis competitions. Many have been selected for SCVA Honor Choirs, as well as All-State and Western Division ensembles. Her high school students have gone on to study at prestigious universities in the U.S. and internationally.

Ms. Norris is a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA), the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). She previously served on the applied voice faculty at Mount St. Mary’s College.

She maintains a private voice studio in both Santa Monica and South Orange County, where she lives with her husband, Sean, and favorite son, Connor.
