A pre-professional training program designed for students entering high school in Fall 2026 and ready to develop as confident, versatile performers through integrated training in voice, acting, and movement.

Program Overview:
The Musical Theatre Conservatory integrates singing, acting, and movement to prepare students for the dynamic demands of musical theatre performance. Students train in vocal technique, character development, storytelling, stage presence, and audition preparation, while exploring repertoire from classic Broadway to contemporary productions.
Classes emphasize performance skills, including scene study, song interpretation, ensemble work, and stage movement, helping students connect acting choices with vocal performance.
Through workshops, rehearsals, and staged performances, students gain practical experience performing musical theater repertoire while building confidence and versatility as performers.

JOEY ANCONA
Joey Ancona is an accomplished arts educator, director, and musician with over 30 years of experience in theatre, music, and interdisciplinary arts education. He holds an M.S. in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University and a B.F.A. in Theatre from California State University, Fullerton. Most recently, he served as Director of the Integrated Arts Conservatory at California School of the Arts–San Gabriel Valley. He previously spent nearly a decade at Orange County School of the Arts leading the Production and Design Conservatory. Ancona is also co-owner and music director of School of Rock Huntington Beach and has directed productions including Hadestown and Into the Woods.

JARED MACHADO
Jared Machado is an American actor of Cuban, Filipino, and Dominican descent, born and raised in Orange County, California. He trained for six years at the Orange County School of the Arts in Musical Theater, Pop Vocal Performance, and Musicianship, working with industry professionals including Matthew Morrison, Susan Egan, and Ally Stroker. He continued his training at the University of Arizona before transitioning into professional performance. Jared has appeared in productions with the Chance Theater and OffBroadway, including The Buena Vista Social Club Musical. He has taught acting and voice since 2016 and currently serves as a musical director.
