Adiel Sanchez is a dedicated performer and instructor based in Southern California. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach, under the guidance of Dr. Jenni Olson. On the stage, he holds himself to high standards and always performs to illustrate a story.

While teaching, his experience and time working with his own past teachers have shaped his pedagogical approach of always “teaching the student and not the flute.” As contradictory as it might sound, he is mindful and determined to find different ways of approaching flute playing and music in general to reflect the differences that each student may have.

In the past, he has been part of numerous groups, such as the Lyceum Oaks and CSUN Youth Orchestras and the prestigious SCSBOA Wind Ensemble in high school. During multiple summers, he also kept himself involved in the realm of music festivals and participated in the LOYO Summer Fest, Idyllwild Arts Musicians Intensive, and The Complete 21st Century Flutist. He has also participated in various masterclasses with well-known flutists such as Carol Wincenc, Rena Urso, Thomaz Tavares, Silvia Careddu, Alberto Navarra, and more.

In his time playing the flute, he has studied with Scott Quirk, Sabrina Tu, Diana Morgan, and currently studies with Dr. Jenni Olson. Through teaching, Sanchez hopes to not only share his passion for music in hopes of shaping greater musicians in the next generation, but also to create a greater sense of belonging and community through the one thing that unites us all.
