Prescreening Submission

- Upload a video of ONE composition of your choice, performed on a live grand or upright piano (no electronic pianos). - Set the YouTube video privacy setting to public when uploading. If the video is not public, we will not be able to view it. - The video must be recorded horizontally, showing the applicant’s face, hands, and feet, with no background noise or conversations. - Performance must be from memory. - Non-compliance with these requirements will result in disqualification.

Repertoire for Competition Finals

[ Category-Specific Rules] - Category 1 (Young Talent, Ages 8 and under): Perform a minimum of 2 pieces of free choice. Total performance time must not exceed 7 minutes. - Category 2 (Junior, Ages 9–12): Perform a minimum of 2 contrasting pieces of free choice. Total performance time must not exceed 10 minutes. - Category 3 (Senior, Ages 13–16): Perform a minimum of 2 contrasting pieces of free choice. Total performance time must not exceed 12 minutes. - Category 4 (College/University, Ages 17–22): Perform a minimum of 2 contrasting pieces of free choice. Total performance time must not exceed 15 minutes. Note: Performances exceeding the time limit may be interrupted at the judges’ discretion. No simplified or abbreviated versions of compositions are permitted. All performances must be from memory.
