Classical Dance
Jim Kolb, M.A., is a distinguished choreographer, director, and master educator whose career reflects decades of leadership in dance education. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Dance from California State University, Long Beach, and served for more than 30 years as Dance Chair and Director of the Commercial Dance Conservatory at the Orange County School of the Arts. In addition to long-standing faculty appointments at Glendale College and the University of Southern California, Kolb has taught master classes nationwide and internationally, earning recognition including the Outstanding Educator Award in Secondary Dance.
Professionally, Kolb’s dancing spans television, film, and stage, including the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Soul Train Awards, and major motion pictures such as My Blue Heaven and New York, New York. A former Principal Dancer with the Gus Giordano Dance Company, he has also created original works for concert dance and musical theatre. Widely respected for both artistic excellence and visionary leadership, Kolb’s impact continues to resonate across the professional dance community.
