Interview: Carl St.Clair and Pacific Symphony take on Bruckner’s Eighth
On Nov. 9-11, at the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa, conductor Carl St.Clair and Pacific Symphony will perform Austrian composer Anton Bruckner’s mammoth Symphony No. 8 for the first time in their history. St.Clair wanted to make sure that audiences were prepared for the unusual and rarely performed 90-minute work, so he devised a prelude that will put them in the mood.
