Health and Safety at OCMD

At OC Music & Dance, the health and safety of our students, teachers, families, and staff is always given the highest priority.  As we prepare to reopen the school and resume our normal activities, you may rest assured that we are always following the best practices recommended by the health care community.  A few of the measures we are implementing are listed below:

Best Practices

We have put in place several new protocols, including:

·       Brief, contact-free health screenings for all wishing to enter the building

·       The use of face coverings and hand sanitizer upon entrance and exit

·       Frequent disinfecting of surfaces before and after lessons

·       One-way entrance and exit

·       Physical distancing implemented in commons areas, classrooms, and practice rooms

Prior to opening, the building will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. We will repeat the process on a regular basis. In addition, OCMD has installed an air filtration system throughout the building ensuring our air will now be continuously cleaned to remove contamination, pollutants, and pathogens (like viruses and bacteria).

Recommended Instrument Cleaning Guidelines

The following guidelines include recommendations for safely cleaning and disinfecting musical instruments, including detailed guidelines for piano collecting and cleaning from NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants), the Piano Technicians Guild, and the Orange County Music and Arts Administrators (OCMAA).
