Classical Ballet is a highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary based on French terminology. Our ballet teachers provide instruction in the Vaganova style of classical ballet, which is a Russian ballet technique that was developed in the 19th century.

Ballet Classes


Pre-Ballet – Ages 5-7

Thursdays. 9/17 – 12/10.  3:45PM – 4:30PM.

Readying the young dancer for a more serious pursuit of ballet, this class introduces the fundamentals at the barre and in center. Develop strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, and listening skills in a fun and safe environment. Dancers should wear a black leotard, pink or black tights, ballet flats, and hair pulled away from the face in either a ponytail or bun. Ballet skirts or shorts are optional.

Fundamentals of Ballet – Ages 7 – 10

Tuesdays. 9/15 – 12/8.  4:45PM – 5:45PM.

Designed for the emerging artist, this dynamic ballet class emphasizes a strong, foundational understanding of classical ballet terminology, alignment, and movement. Beginning at the barre and then moving to the center, students refine technique, improve coordination, and develop grace and control. Students must wear pink or black tights, a black leotard, hair in a bun or twist, and flat ballet shoes with a split-sole.

Beg/Int Ballet – Ages 7 – 12

Tuesdays. 9/15 – 12/8.  6:00PM – 7:00PM.

This class is open to beginning and intermediate ballet students who have a basic understanding of the classical ballet vocabulary. The class is a fast paced, traditional ballet class that starts at the barre and moves to the center. There will be a focus on strong technique and mastering beaten jumps and multiple turns. Students must wear pink or black tights, a leotard, hair in a bun or twist, and flat ballet shoes.
